Drinking coffee, praying and spiritual meditation are my routine in the morning. I believe these habits are able to awake my senses and clear my mind. In early January this year, I got the injury on my ankle during hiking. I felt painful from my torn ligaments, hip joint, even my back muscle. It affected my daily life, my work and my emotion as well. In order to reconnect with my body and mind, also get inspiration and energy, I tried to add a yoga sitting pose and the breath training into my routine. After that, I did my drawing so that I can record my inner mind. Eventually, I wrote the poems to describe my mood and imagination after the drawings were done. At the same time, All of the Zen background music is composed by Cha Ming (Josephine Chan)

In my artworks, I put plenty of torn recycled papers and paints on. It means different backgrounds, thoughts and mood I have everyday because of new things, new people, new objects I encountered. At the same time, I did the continuous line drawing on papers. It represents life as if single trail. Life must go on no matter what happening. But we have a choice to draw how beautiful picture on the paper. Furthermore, coffee on paper shows the important role in my life. It can awake my five senses and mind at the beginning of ritual. At last, Placing four square papers means fresh air can go through the windows and make me alive. Also, it means practicing can make me stronger too. They all about hope.
Selecting papers and paints, tearing papers, doing the continuous line drawing, dripping the coffee etc... were in a unconscious condition.
All depends on my intuition and feeling.
Unconscious processing can reflect the real of me that is the conversation of my inner mind. It makes the artwork to be unpredictable and surprise. It’s the most interesting part.
Everyday I drink the same type of beverage.
Everyday I do the same sitting pose.
I do the drawing according to the same photo.
I do the artwork by using the same method.
This is my RITUAL.
But…
All of the artwork are different.
Life and thoughts are different.
Creative work and my routine can do healing.
I feel more calm though I did not recover yet.
After I finished all of the drawings, I tried to write the poems for each drawings. They are related my meditation, feeling and imagination. Then, the background music of each poem is designed by Cha Ming (Josephine Chan). I hope the audiences can get the whole pictures through visual, words and music.
